１　目標 社会の様子， 働きや移り変わりについての関心と理解を深め， 社会生活に必要な基礎的な能力と態度を育てる。
２　内容
(1)集団生活の中での役割を理解し， 自分の意見を述べたり，相手の立場を考えたりして，互いに協力し合う。
(2)社会生活に必要ないろいろなきまりがあることを知り， それらを守る。
(3) 日常生活に関係の深い公共施設や公共物などの働きが分かり， それらを利用する。
(4) 日常生活で経験する社会の出来事や情報メディアなどに興味や関心をもち， 生産， 消費などの経済活動に関する初歩的な事柄を理解する。
(5) 自分が住む地域を中心に， 我が国のいろいろな地域の様子や社会の移り変わりに関心をもつ。
(6) 外国の様子や世界の出来事などに興味や関心をもつ。
